Mission
The contributors to this page hail from all different walks of life. We are comprised of an assortment of races, ethnicities, nationalities, religious backgrounds and sexual orientations. We, the contributors, each affected by a wide array of mental illnesses, hold one universal truth:
We let Beauty reign in our lives, despite our mental illness. In our of act of doing so, we may witness a rainbow. (Read more on our Mission Statement here.)
Goals
This site presents a safe space for all those affected (be it by an anxiety disorder, mood disorder, personality disorder, or psychosis) with a place that we can call "home". The goal of this site is to be completely transparent. We, the contributors, must learn not to hide our self-truths, but to wear them as a badge of honor. In being honest with ourselves and others, we allow the most beautiful moments in time to come about.
“Your pain is not in vain.”
ANISHA J. KING | Founder
History
The idea for this site was conceived in 2014, when founder Anisha J. King was suffering from her first manic episode. A few years later, she set off on a mission to help break the stigma associated with mental illness. Affected by Bipolar I Disorder, Anisha wanted to create a space where others impacted by mental illness could share their stories, collectively share a laugh, and shed a few tears.
